Make a Plan to Quit Tobacco on Nov. 17

If you can quit tobacco for a day, you can quit for life. Get ready to quit with millions of others during the American Cancer Society® Great American Smokeout® on Thursday, Nov. 17. By day's end, you'll realize you do have the ability to regain control over your health.

Eligible carpenters and dependents can enroll in the Quit For Life® Program for support. Quit For Life's expert Quit Coaches® will help you create and follow a quitting plan tailored to your needs. They specialize in helping people quit tobacco, and they'll provide as much one-on-one support as you need over the phone.

When you enroll, you'll receive an easy-to-use printed Quit Guide you can reference in any situation to help you stick with your quitting plan. In addition, you'll receive advice on which type, dose, and duration of nicotine substitute or medication is right for you, and on how to use it so it really works. Eligible carpenters and dependents qualify for free nicotine replacement products (patch or gum). As an alternative, prescription medications are available without a copay, but you'll need to have your doctor write the prescription.

Being ready to quit on November 17 takes preparation. Quit For Life gives you the tools, knowledge and confidence you need to deal with the emotional, behavioral, and environmental factors that lead you to use tobacco.
